Wandering around Granada in a tranquil, post-disaster day

Granada suffered a series of earthquakes during August1. Substantial damage was done to the city’s infrastructure — some buildings showed cracks on walls, Fermasa’s mythical chimney is being rebuilt 2. and probably more things I am not aware of.

In a totally unrelated manner, I went to a day trip to Granada to develop a couple of films in La Química Film Lab before summer vacation — so I threw the Canon 550D in the backpack and wandered around the city, exploring parts unbeknownst to me.

Every city seems to have its “duck’s park”. In Granada, it’s the Parque Federico García Lorca. In Jaén, Parque de La Concordia

  2. The first time I went to Granada by myself, alongside friends, was for a manga event. Fermasa hosted the event, and hence its tower became one of my most memorable icons of the city ↩
